EmpowerEd aims to address the systemic challenges facing underserved students through a number of approaches. A central element is the SensitizEd Children’s Book Series, a collection of three storybooks exploring themes of caste, class, and gender inequalities in students’ lives. These books will then be utilised during the ReflectEd reading seasons in order to actively engage students with discussions about equity and the lived experiences of marginalized groups. Further, the SupportEd Fundraiser will raise funds to sponsor the DistributEd Kit Donation program, which will include the assembly and distribution of school kits, comprising uniforms and stationery.
Additionally, the InvolvEd Volunteer Network, in partnership with the Niche Club, will provide remedial tutoring for students in Math and English. EmpowerEd will also launch the PowerEd Repository, an open-access database of government schemes to empower parents and improve educational access. EmpowerEd envisions a future where all children are able to fulfill their aspirations, and realise their potential. By empowering young students with these elements, the project hopes to bring us one step closer to that reality.
